However there are a few selected books that centre around vampires - Vampire Academy for one, that I do enjoy. Harcourt, Seventeen-year-old Jessica, adopted and raised in Pennsylvania, learns that she is descended from a royal line of Romanian vampires and that she is betrothed to a vampire prince, who poses as a foreign exchange student while courting her. I have to admit that the story lived up the great title.
Oh, and the major villain of this book, one of the scary vampires who was lapping at those steaks?
She had her flaws and I didn't agree to all her decisions but hey! I did not want to read another cheap Twilight knockoff. But Jess has her reasons, or reason, rather, and his name is Jake. The dialogue on Lucius' part reeked of melodrama and he acted like a jerk right up until the last few pages of the book. Whilst it begins like any other vampire style novel, or like something off the Vampires section from FanFiction guilty as charged for having spent an eternity on FF during aforementioned vampire addiction , Fantaskey has managed to create an interesting and somewhat humorous novel about what it's like to be a vampire princess.
It's a brilliant read.

Lucius would get all hoity-toity and Jessica would smack him back down to size. This is the one part that I felt the novel failed at. I love well-rounded characters who undergo a transformation throughout the story - keeps them from being stagnate and boring. During this time, Lucius figures out some dark secrets of his own family and decides to break their contract of marriage in order to save Jessica's own life. It began as a light-hearted read, comical even, but then it just became a dark, angst volturi-twilight moody thing. Lucius is hard at first, set on bringing Jessica back to marry her as part of his duty - but her ways charms him into actually feeling something for her.

I totally like it one of my favorite books. The only thing wrong with this book was that it ended. She said, "I have this thing for older men. What I got when I opened the book was a tender love story, laced with humor and danger, and got sucked into a storey that was un-put-down-able. It sucked sometimes, living in rural Pennsylvania. But no, I had to "share the ride" to save the environment.

This is definitely one of those novels I will be revisiting. The town kids were probably still sleeping, safe and sound in their beds. Wonderful, wonderful bus number Problem is, you can't help comparing Lindt chocolate to fake Hershey chocolate - likewise, you'll end up comparing this book with its highly successful predecessor. The writing was also exceptional. Until he's nearly killed by a horse and then starts dating cheerleeder-blonde-bitch extraordinaire, Faith Crosse, Jessica thought she could get rid of him and be happy settling for "nice" and simple Jake; now the pact is being threatened by Lucius himself, who no longer seems to want her, just as she discovers how much she wants to be a part of his world.
I'm not sure if that is true, but judging by the content, it is how I felt. They have time to examine their true feelings about family and duty. Lucius was the one I was worried about. The only thing wrong with this book was that it ended. Antanasia - what kind of name is that? One thing is clear Lucius Vladescu clearly is hellaciously hot and thinks he is a vampire. There were spots that moved too quick the Winter Formal, for example , but I enjoyed the read, even so!
I always felt as though I were right there, experiencing all the events that were happening throughout the novel. She gets used to it eventually. All her feelings were geniune and real and I felt I really got to know her throughout the novel. Both Jessica and Lucius go through major changes in the novel. It was exactly what I expected until the story got deeper and the plot began to drip with more depth. All of this happens within the first 17 pages of the book.
I can buy that. The only disappointment I had in this book was that the ending was done and over before you knew it. Lucius' commntary on American life shifts slowly from version 2 to version 1. Jessica is extremely reluctant to this idea, and after a series of crazy events, she realises her love for him Antanasia Dragomir, renamed Jessica Packwood by her adopted parents, is a down-to-earth farm girl with a talent for mathematics and a resolute disdain for all things supernatural.
